| Basement Love | | Ok, it seems like VH1 is ready to give ANYONE a reality "dating" show. Now, Frank- known as the "Entertainer" from his stint on "I Love New York"- has his own "dating" show where his parents are also involved since he lives in their basement. My first question is: would you persue a 30 something year old guy (granted I don't know how old he is) who still lives in his parents basement? My second question is: Who else is going to get a dating show? | |
| | Should I get a mini fridge or a full size for my basement? | | We are finishing our basement and I can't decide if a refrigerator would work best, or if I should get a mini fridge instead. We have company over a lot, and part of our basement is going to be a gameroom, so people will be drinking a lot.A mini fridge would save space, but it won't hold as much, and when there are 5 or 10 people over, a case of beer isn't going to be enough, so I worry that a mini fridge won't hold enough.I was reading about mini fridges here ( http://www.mini-fridge.org/ ). I know there are some bigger ones, but I'm just not sure.At the same time, a full size fridge would work perfectly, but it would take up too much room.Do you think it would work if we got a full size fridge but we kept it off to the side in an unfinished area of the basement, perhaps by the furnace and stuff? It wouldn't be a fixture in our basement then, so it might look funny, but then it wouldn't take up any of the space in the gameroom.Thanks! | |

| Basement Room | | Here's an update/photo on the room my daughter and her hubby are doing for us as a Christmas gift. Almost all the walls are up. One are by the door and the celing to do yet as far as the plaster boards. The door is hung but not yet framed in. I did the taping and mudding of the walls. He installed a new circuit for the room. The outlets are wired and working. The lights are hung up. The carpet is bought and in the basemenmt. Now to get him out here a little more often. Hee hee. When was the last time you did some remodeling of your place?

| | Have you ever been afraid of your basement? | | I am scared to go down in the basement. It is dark and really creepy down there. I have wooden steps that creek and I hate it. I have to go down the basement with someone always. I always have a feeling someone is watching me or following me. It freaks me out so bad. I have went down there by myself but I always end up screaming and freaking out and then end up running up the stairs. I absolutely hate my basement. It gives me the creeps way too much. | |

| Has anyone ever converted their basement into a bar? | | We are finishing our basement so I want to plan all this out ahead of time rather than do everything and then be like "uh... I wish I had done x, y, and z instead."So we're adding a kitchen into the basement but I want a bar as well. Half of our basement is going to be a bar/game room with a pool table and stuff, and the other half is going to be a theater room (I got the wife's permission, yes).So is there anything I should look out for or avoid when converting a basement into a bar? My favorite part so far has been trying to decide on bar stools ( http://www.barstoolsonly.com ). I think I'm going to go with a retro 70s style bar appearance, just cuz that's the decade it was when I frequented bars a lot and I want to be reminded of that.Ok, any help is appreciated. | | Basement project/finishing slowly | | As I stated in the past, our daughter and hubby are refinishing a room in our basement as a Christmas gift for us. This photo shows the room as of Today (Tuesday). There's a little more done now though. The walls are about 95% up. Insulation is about 50% done. The wires and outlets and light switch are set in place but not yet wired. Haven't decided pon a final choice for a light yet. It won't be this ugly bulb and string that's a given.[em]w00t[/em] It's looking good and getting warmer in that room. Lot's more to go yet. My daughter and son-in-law come over on Mondays when they can to work on it. I do some things on and off if I have the parts and or tools etc. Today I hung the last of the insulation I had here. Still need more yet. When was the last time you finished a basement for yourself or others?

| Is the basement of a building is cool place in winter season or hot one? | | It is early in the morning. I got up after a night long sleep. I am here in the basement of my home building. I am feeling very cold weather and suffering from cold. Is it good place to pass the winter at basement?
