| I just saved hundreds, all because of my clumsy fingers! | | I had an emergency appendectomy last May and I've been paying down my portion of the bill at $53 per month. I made an online payment a couple of weeks ago but accidentally entered $535 instead of $53. Oh, I was upset with myself!! So I called today when I found out about it by checking my credit card statement and talked with a rep who spoke to her supervisor. She said they could credit me $477 or I could leave it as is and they would write off the rest--$581.01!!It took me two seconds to say yes! By making that large payment and letting them keep it, they are marking the bill as paid in full and will send me documentation of that.WOW!! So all of you who owe bills like this, see if you can make a lump sum payment and have them write off the rest. I imagine it's economical for them to do so rather than the expense of posting monthly payments, all the paperwork and data entry and stuff. I'll be penny pinching for a couple of months but that payoff is fantastic![em]happy[/em][em]thumbup[/em] | |
| | Did you ever think you saved money but ended up wasting? | | I bought up these hot Italian sausages . . . they were on sale and I needed it for my spaghetti sauce the next night . . . I figured I could freeze the rest as I always do when I find a meat bargain. Well, I used what I needed . . . and then I forgot about freezing the rest - til about a week later. By then, the sausages were all gray - ahhhhhhh!! I wasn't sure how long sausages would keep . . . but I figured better safe than be sorry, so they were all tossed out. Ugh. I hate wasting food and wasting money! I bought a huge package of pork chops the other day . . . this time I remembered to freeze them right away. Have you gotten a serious bargain, only to kick yourself for letting it go to waste? | |

| Help! Can my plumeria be saved? | | Last night my husband slipped and fell and landed on my plumeria. The stem snapped and I now have a 4 inch stalk coming up out of the pot and a 27 inch stalk with some leaves on top that broke off. I placed the long stalk in a separate pot with water to try to keep it alive. Can the potted part with roots put out a new stalk that will grow leaves? Can the stalk that broke off develop roots and become a separate plant? If anyone out there has experience with plumeria, please advise. | |
| | Would you put a clothes line up and use it if it saved you $30-50 a month? | | So a few months ago I stumbled across a site that showed money saving tricks and one was to stop using the dryer and put a clothes line up. So I wasn't to sure but decided to go out and invest in a pulley system and I installed it. We have been using it in place of the dryer unless the dryer is a must which maybe used once in a week. Our gas and electric bill is around 175 a month from month to month. This month the only change was the clothes line and its down almost 45 dollars. Now I know its not a million dollars but times that by 12 months and you have almost $500 a year. So if you can just slap a clothes line up and save would you do it? | |

| Rohit Sharma saved the day for India.. | | Rohit Sharma saved the day for India... At one stage, the Indians were looking like getting all out within 100 and then Rohit started playing his natural game.. he ended up scoring 79 runs and remained unbeaten.. If he was not there, india's chance for this tournament would have been gone, even if they had won the next two matches.. | |
| | Hussy saved the day for the Ausies.. | | Michel Hussy saved the day for the Ausies..His score of 47 of just 29 balls were really match winning for the Aussies under the surcomstances..
The Aussies would have been bowled out within the score of 120, if he had not been there .. he took the total to a respectable one..

| Is There a Movie Villian You Wish Had Been Saved? | | Is there any movie villians you felt sorry for; wish had been saved?I was thinking about the Sandman character in Spiderman 3; He was involved in Peter Parker's Uncle's death, and was caught in a freak accident which turned him into the Sandman guy.
However, he was only robbing the bank in an effort to save his daughter.I felt sorry for the character. How about you? Are they any villians you felt bad for?

| | Saved Lawn | | This is a photo of an area that my lawn pieces were laid. After digging the new garden plot, I saved the lawn sections & used them to cover an area in the back yard that Buster has demolished. It's his area to sit & watch for the wild critters. I dig an area about 1 foot by 1 foot square then clean the dirt from it then lay that piece in the area. Pat it down by walking on it, then water it real well. This is not sod, just lawn/grass. Have you resodded or relawned your area(s) at all?
As always.....
