| BB King. How much longer do you think he will tour? | | I have seen BB King in concert several times now - once solo, and twice as a part of a blues review with several additional acts preceding. Now in his eighties, he has not ever lost his touch musically, or personality wise. It is apparent, however, if you see him off stage or just before getting on stage that diabetes, longevity, and the demanding schedule have taken its toll.Firstly, I recommend to anyone, whether you are a fan or not to see BB King live. He is truly a national treasure, not to mention a virtuoso of blues. His shows are extremely entertaining and you have to not have a pulse to not have a good time. However, my question is - do you think he is the type of person where his work was such a part of his life that he will be on tour for the rest of his life? Or do you think there will be a day when he decides to retire? There are many accounts of folks who have a love affair with their life's work that they never stop and rest until their last day on earth. He seems to be one of them. | |

| Damn Right I Got the Blues! | | OK - What are your favorite blues songs? I need a little help in this department because I usually am not a big Blues-y person and don't listen to it very much. The only two songs that I really love and listen to are Buddy Guy's "Damn Right I Got the Blues" (hence the title of this discussion) and B.B. King's "Five Long Years". Those are probably my favorite, but I'd like to add more to my Blues playlist. What are some of the popular American blues songs, and which are your favorite? | |
| | A special kind of fan | | One day this woman was reading in the paper about her favorite musical artist was coming to play in her town. B B King had a few concerts planned in the same state she resided in. She bought tickets, along with a back stage pass to one of the venues.Summoning up some courage, she went to a tattoo parlor to have Mr. King's name imprinted on her butt. B on one cheek, and B on the other. She arrived at the concert, and cheered on each song as it played. After the show was over she went backstage to meet the man and his music.
"I am such a big fan, I have a surprise for you." The lady said as she began to hike up her dress.
"Enlighten me" B.B. smiled as she bent over
"What do you think of my surprise?" She waved her bare fanny at him
"That's all good and fine." He answered. "But who's Bob?" | |

| What's the best concert you have ever seen or been to? | | This one is for all the music lovers out there. What's the best concert you have ever seen or been to. I realize some of you may not have had the opportunity to see a live concert before so concert video is ok. I personally have been lucky enough to have seen quite few in the last 15 years. This might date me a bit, but my first big live concert was Def Leopard back in there heyday. They sold out a 10000 plus seat arena where I lived and put on a great show. Since then I have seen Alice Cooper and the Scorpions in a double headliner, also back in the 90's when they could sell out arena's. Others include the BB King blues festival which featured 5 bands other than the legend himself. More recently I have seen QueensRyche, Daughtry, Kelly Clarkson, Aerosmith and Lenny Kravitz, and just this last year I was able to go see Nickelback with PapaRoach, and Hinder opening for them. Of all of them the best is a close call, but Alice Cooper and the Scorpions wins. 12000 people packed the arena and Alice Cooper opened. This was back in 1994, and the Scorpions were at the top of there game. While they are not my favorite band of all time, that show was simply awesome. Both bands played a... | |
